Sheep Shearing at Hildene Farm at The Dine (MANCHESTER, V.T.) - Come to Hildene and meet Fred DePaul, who has over 50 years of experience in sheep shearing on Friday, March 8, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This event is free with museum admission. Visitors can watch DePaul shear the Corriedale sheep at the farm and even lend a helping hand with the skirting process, the removal of the dirty wool, stains, and vegetable matter from fleece. Ten Transcendental Etudes at MASS MoCA (NORTH ADAMS, M.A.) - Come join Bennington College professor Nicholas Brooke as he brings his creative collaborators for his week-long residency to compose his latest musical piece, Ten Transcendental Etudes. A two-day performance of the work-in-progress piece will be held Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2 inside the Hunter Center of MASS MoCA, 8 p.m. Advance tickets cost $29, $39 during the week of the show, and $15 for students. AI For Business: Tools For Small Businesses (ALBANY, N.Y.) - America’s CBDC New York will host its second seminar and webinar for AI For Business: Tools for Small Businesses on Tuesday, March 5, at 7:30 a.m. For this particular presentation, small business owners can learn about the AI (Artificial Intelligence) tools that are user-friendly and cost-effective tools that help businesses improve their productivity and help keep ahead of the competition. Business Boot Camps to be Held Through April 22 (ALBANY, N.Y.) - University at Albany’s Small Business Development Center will begin putting on their business boot camps, starting on Monday, February 26 and will run every Monday through April 22. This nine-week bootcamp is held to assist business owners in developing their business idea or concept and turn it into a business plan. The classes will be held from 5-7 p.m. via Zoom, with some business guidance available in person at the Albany office, digital platforms, or by phone. Enrollment is $175. An Afternoon With T.J. Sheppard Announced (GLENS FALLS, N.Y.) - Kevin Richards Presents an afternoon of classic country with T.G. Sheppard “Close Up”, to be held Saturday, September 21, 3 p.m. at the Wood Theater in Glens Falls. The September show will include special guest, Whiskey River. Shepard is known for 21 number one hit songs including “Do You Want to Go to Heaven”, “War Is Hell (On The Homefront Too)”, “I Loved ‘Em Every One”, “Only One You”, and “Party Time Finally”. 4th Winter Art Fest (ALBANY, N.Y.) - Albany Center Gallery and the Albany Distilling Company have joined together to put on the 4th Winter Art Fest to be held at Albany Distilling Company Bar and Bottle Shop on 75 Livingston Avenue, Albany, Saturday, March 9 from 12-6 p.m. Tickets for the event are $24. This benefit event for Albany Center Gallery will feature live art and installations curated by Albany Center Gallery, specialty cocktails and mocktails, food specials from DeFazio’s Pizzeria, music provided by DJ Intell Hayesfield, and other winter elements and activities. Deb Cavanaugh and Dandelion Wine at Caffe Lena
(SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.) - Come and see Deb Cavanaugh and Dandelion Wine perform at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs on Saturday, March 2, as part of the Little Folks Series. The concert will be held from 3:00-4:30 p.m. This free show will feature Cavanaugh’s original songs that are inspired by American culture and using traditional instruments as the mountain dulcimer and the lumberjack and including the folk arts the “Crankie” and “String figures”. The Mendelssohn Club of Albany to Perform at Colonie Senior Center (COLONIE, N.Y.) - The Colonie Senior Services Center will host The Mendelssohn Club of Albany on Wednesday, March 6, at 5:30 p.m. for an early spring performance to be held inside the Lakeview Room of the Beltrone Center, located at 6 Winners Circle in Albany. Doors to the concert will open at 4:30 p.m. and the concert is free and open to the public.
Kisstory to Perform at The Cohoes Music Hall (COHOES, N.Y.) - E1 Presents and The Cohoes Music Hall present Kisstory-Tribute to KISS at The Cohoes Music Hall on Saturday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m. Opening for the local Kiss tribute band is the 518 Motley Crue tribute act, Live Wire 518.Kisstory is known for their authentic look and sound to the iconic rock group. They, too, will perform many of the band’s iconic hit songs such as “Love Gun”, “Detroit City”, and “Rock and Roll All Night”. 12th Annual Adirondack Pub & Brewery Barrel Fest
(LAKE GEORGE, N.Y.) - New York craft beer producers will be showcasing their beer, cider, wine, and other items as part of the Adirondack Pub & Brewery 12th Annual Barrel Festival on Saturday, March 2 from 2-5 p.m. Confirmed guest producers and vendors will include Adirondack Winery, Argyle Brewing Company, Bolton Landing Brewing Company, Brown’s Brewing Company, Common Roots Brewing Company, Community Beer Works, and others. There will also be a kegs and eggs brunch from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. included for free as part of the VIP ticket package, in addition to fireworks, music, dancing, and complimentary snacks. Toss The Feathers to Perform at HVCC (TROY, N.Y.) - Come and celebrate leap year and St. Patrick’s Day early at Hudson Valley Community College (H.V.C.C.) with music from Toss The Feathers, Thursday, February 29, from 12-1 p.m. inside the Bulmer Telecommunications Center Auditorium. Sketches of Influence at Alias Coffee (TROY, N.Y.) - The original lineup of Sketches of Influence Quartet will be performing a two-day show held at Alias Coffee, Saturday, March 2 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 3 at 6 p.m. The quartet, featuring Stacy Dillard, Davis Whitfield, Otto Gardner, and Joe Barna, who released their 2020 album, The Grind. The last time that the previous lineup performed was on Saturday, March 14, 2020. A $20 minimum donation will be taken at the door.
