Blue Ranger to Perform at The Hangar on The Hudson (TROY, N.Y.) - Blue Ranger, a Capital Region band has released their latest EP, “Close Your Eyes”, their first LP in five years and the most collaborative to date. The band bridges the musical genres of electronica, soft-folk, and ambient rock into their original music. The band will hold a CD release party of their new LP on Friday, March 29 at The Hangar on The Hudson with opening acts, Southern Star and Will Stratton. Show will start at 8 p.m. General admission tickets start at $17.85 and can be purchased via Eventbrite.
Client Appreciation Day With Integra HR (ALBANY, N.Y) - Integra HR is inviting clients and potential customers to attend their client appreciation day to be held on Thursday, March 21 at the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce, located at 5 Computer Drive South, Albany, N.Y. 12205 from 2-4 p.m. This free event will feature a celebration of gratitude for Elaine Angelo and guest speaker Holly Kahn, will give a presentation on addressing disrespectful behaviors in the workplace. Save The Date to Attend the Albany Gem and Fossil Show (ALBANY, N.Y.) - After its hiatus, the Albany Gem and Fossil show returns to the Capital Region and this time, it will be held at its new location at the Albany Polish Community Center, located at 235 Washington Avenue Ext., Albany, Saturday, April 13-Sunday, April 14 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. There will be 21 mineral, fossil, and jewelry vendors, including Troy establishments Sawtooth Jewelry Studio and Annick Designs will be in attendance in displaying and selling their products. Redlining and Urban Renewal in Troy, N.Y. Zoom Presentation (ALBANY, N.Y.) - This month’s FreedomCon 2024 Zoom presentation will be presented by Kathy Sheehan, director of the Hart Cluett Museum and put on by the Underground Railroad Education Center, on Saturday, March 23 from 2-3 p.m. This presentation will look at the system of redlining in Troy which kept individuals of color and new immigrant groups from living in certain neighborhoods within the city and residing in the areas that were close to the industrial core of the city from the 1920’s-1960’s until the Collar City Bridge was created. Family Exhibition Show Opening Saturday (BALLSTON SPA, N.Y.) - The Artists’ Space inside the National Bottle Museum will hold an opening reception for The Family Showcase. This exhibition in particular will feature artwork from two family members who are art creators of any age and relationship. The exhibit will open on Saturday, March 23 and will run through April 20. Saturday Children’s Workshops at Art Omi (GHENT, N.Y.) - Is your child interested in art and creating art? Every Saturday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., children from five-years-old up to 11-years-old can take part in a workshop at Art Omi where they can check out new works of art and featured pieces in the sculpture and architecture outdoor park and create a work of art based on a weekly theme or a given material. The workshop is $20 per child or $36 for up to two children. Public Art Community Meeting (TROY, N.Y.) - The Arts Center of the Capital Region invites the public to attend a public art community meeting on Wednesday, March 27 at KIPP Troy Prep High School, located at 2 Polk Street, Troy, 5:45-8:00 p.m. There will be pizza for everyone, and children’s activities will be provided at the event. Public art will be coming to South Troy and The Arts Center needs your input and ideas on what is needed in South Troy. This event is free and open to the public and is being organized by the Arts Center of the Capital Region’s Troy Public Art Program, in partnership with the City of Troy and the American Recovery Plan Act. Erin Harkes and Friends Comedy Show (SCHENECTADY, N.Y.) - Katie O’Byrnes in Schenectady will host the event, Katie O’Comedy, with comedy from Erin Harkes and friends, with headliner, Liz Barrett, as heard on Sirius FM, Lifetime, and Funny or Die.
