Dustin Mele Memorial Concert Returns to Revolution Hall (TROY, N.Y.) - Come and attend the 10th Annual Dustin Mele Memorial Concert at Brown’s Revolution Hall, located at 425 River Street in Troy, Saturday, March 9, 6pm. The memorial concert will feature live music from Super 400 featuring Tommy Love, Memorial Concert All Star Band featuring the Rob Beaulieu Band, and guest musicians, Chris Busone, Matt Hatfield, Chris Garabedian, Dave Max, Joe Mele, Tom Murphy, Evelyn Murphy, Tony Perrino, and Julian Wenacur. A $20 minimum suggested donation will be taken at the door with proceeds benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI), and Catholic Charities CoNSERNS-U Program. Save The Date to Sign Up for Mental Health Training (COLONIE, N.Y.) - Integra HR will be hosting a certification class for Mental Health Aid which will be facilitated by Joelle Monaco from Joelle Monaco Consulting. The class, to be held on April 22 at Broadview FCU, located at 4 Winners Circle, Albany, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. This course is for employees, leaders, caring individuals, and first responders such as police officers to learn about the common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges and how to connect a person with help. Early bird pricing to take part in the class is $299 per participant through March 8, and after March 9, the price will increase to $349 per participant. Hudson Valley Dine and Draw (POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.) - Hudson Valley Dine and Draw returns to the 110 Grill at Poughkeepsie Galleria Mall, Wednesday, March 6, at 6 p.m. Artists, writers, and creatives can get together to eat, draw, and socialize. There will be a contest in which artists can take part in designing a logo using drawing tablets, laptops, pencils, colored pencils, markers, and sketchbooks, with a chance to win a prize and take part in art card exchanges. The Ninth Hour: A Musical (SPENCERTOWN, N.Y.) - The Spencertown Academy Arts Center will collaborate with Milay Arts to present The Ninth Hour, a rock-noir play reimagining the epic poem Beowulf, which explores the ins and outs of humankind’s relationship with power and violence. The performance will be held Saturday, March 9, 2 p.m. Shayfer James and Kate Douglas will perform excerpts of their musical in an intimate duo performance, following a Q & A. Crossgates Get Hired Job Fair (GUILDERLAND, N.Y.) - Looking to switch careers? Looking for a new job this spring? Save the date to attend the Crossgates Get Hired Job Fair on Wednesday, March 27, 2-5 p.m. located at the lower level near Burlington Coat Factory. The job fair, put on by the New York State Department of Tax and Finance and Albany Community Action Partnership, will be in-person and free to the public. Employers will have an opportunity to interview potential candidates on the spot and candidates of all skill levels are welcome to attend and bring their resume with them for an interview. Call For Art for Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month Exhibit (ALBANY, N.Y.) - Albany Center Gallery is currently accepting art for their Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month art exhibition to happen during the end of April. Albany Center Gallery and their curators are inviting local and regional Asian-American and Pacific Islander artists to submit their work for consideration. The call for submissions is free and open to the public. All art forms and mediums are welcome for submission and entries are due before Sunday, March 17 at midnight to be considered.

Dayme Arocena to Perform at MASS MoCA (NORTH ADAMS, M.A.) - Come see jazz singer Dayme Arocena at MASS MoCA, perform her “propulsive Cuban folk-pop”, according to The Guardian, inside the Hunter Center Saturday, March 9, 8 p.m. The female singer has been compared to the likes of Celia Cruz, Aretha Franklin, and Ella Fitzgerald , and draws her musical inspiration from the musical legacies of her native Cuba. Collage Workshop With Beth Brown (ALBANY, N.Y.) - Art.Work.Space will put on its next artist workshop, a collage workshop with artist, Beth Brown, on Saturday, March 9, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. This free workshop is a hands-on art lesson in which creators will learn how to create a collage on an art canvas, cut out papers and paint. Beth Brown, a Capital Region teaching artist, is an experienced painter and designer in the fine and commercial arts field who has taught art classes at her artist studio and online since 2012. Olalekan Jeyifous: Even In Arcadia… to Open March 16 (GHENT, N.Y.) - Art Omi will hold an opening reception for the exhibit, Olalekan Jeyifous: Even in Arcadia… to take place Saturday, March 16 inside the Newmark Gallery of Art Omi from 3-5 p.m. Jeyifous, a Brooklyn, N.Y. based artist who received his BA in Architecture from Cornell University, creates art that re-imagines social spaces which examine the relationships between architecture, community, and the environment. Although the opening is free, registration to attend the event is appreciated. Last Chance to Check Out Winter’s Dream at Fort William Henry (LAKE GEORGE, N.Y.) - Lake George’s Winter’s Dream, located inside Fort William Henry Historic Fortress, is the premier Lake George attraction to see to close out the winter season. This attraction, put on by Moment Factory, is a winter wonderland that is brought to life through beautiful light displays, shadow displays, music, video, and interactive games. Visitors can check out the Cabin of Dreams, check out full moon orbs, weave through a frozen lake, walk through the winter woods, experience the first snow in a laser presentation, and create a dreamscape. Lake George Arts Project’s Call for Art at Caldwell Lake George Library (LAKE GEORGE, N.Y.) - The Lake George Art Project is putting a local call for artists to take part in two exhibition opportunities (July, August, November, and December 2024) and six opportunities in 2025 at the Caldwell Lake George Library. Artists can submit their submissions to www.lakegeorgearts.org before the deadline on April 12, 2024. Maureen Stapleton Symposium at HVCC (TROY, N.Y.) - As part of Catholic Central School’s Centennial year, the high school will host a celebration honoring actress Maureen Stapleton from the Class of 1942, inside the Maureen Stapleton Theater of Hudson Valley Community College, Saturday, March 9, 2 p.m. The event, hosted by Catholic Central graduate, Jackson Murphy, will include a short documentary by Stapleton’s son, Daniel Allentuck, along with video clips from her esteemed career from over 50 years. The theater lobby display will feature items from her work on Broadway, Hollywood and television, and will also include a panel discussion. Family Tree at Twisted Fiddler (TROY, N.Y.) - Come join in and hear some tunes by everyone’s favorite musical family, Family Tree, as they make their debut at the Twisted Fiddler in Troy, N.Y. Friday, March 8, 6 p.m. Twisted Fiddler is located at 9 First Street, Troy. Family Tree features Chad Ploss (drums/vocals), Kenny Hohman (guitar/vocals), Chris Carey (piano/vocals), Lori Friday (bass/vocals), and Steve Candlen (drums/vocals). International Women’s Day at Colonie Senior Services Center (COLONIE, N.Y.) - The Colonie Senior Services Center is putting on their International Women’s Day event on Friday, March 8, inside the Beltrone Living Center in Colonie, 2-4 p.m. The event, free and open to the public, will feature music from Carmen and Life’s Guilty Pleasures, breakout sessions, informational tables, cooking demonstrations by chefs Joan Dembinski, Kizzy Williams, and Capital Cooks co-proprietor Caroline Barrett, and other vendors.
