Rensselaer Plateau Alliance Seeking Seasonal Snowplow Driver For 2023-2024 Season
AVERILL PARK - Looking for a winter job? Do you enjoy plowing snow and working in nature? Come and apply for a job with the Rensselaer Plateau Alliance (R.P.A.) and Rensselaer Land Trust (R.L.T).
The organization is seeking a snowplow driver that can drive and care for the alliance’s plow truck, work reasonable hours and be paid for the hours work. The driver must have a clean driving record and be available during the days following a snowstorm.
The job will not require the applicant to work in the middle of the night. The goal for the position is to clean all their parking areas within several days of a snowstorm and sand all icy areas.
R.P.A. is seeking a driver that would be available to respond to calls during daylight hours starting the day after every storm.
Rensselaer Plateau Alliance and Rensselaer Land Trust (R.L.T.) has 13 parking areas spread all over eastern Rensselaer County, including areas for both R.P.A. and R.L.T., totaling an 86-mile loop. These parking areas accommodate 22 parking vehicles.
The vehicle that the applicant will drive for the organizations is a 2016 Chevy 2500 HD with a straight plow and a 1-yard capacity sander.
